I was referred by my doctor to Stephen for lower back pain following a work-related incident, for which various physiotherapy attempts had failed to produce results. Stephen zeroed in on the problem and was able to fully address it in a matter of weeks. His flexibility and willingness to do late evenings has made a huge difference to my ability to maintain a treatment schedule.

I first met Stephen in Navan shopping centre where he was offering free consultations. He could see my problem before I even explained it to him, because of the way I was standing. My family and I have been regularly attending the bepainfree.ie clinic for over 2 years now and it never ceases to amaze me how professional, kind and accommodating Stephen is. My back problems started after the birth of my daughter in 2011. They came to a head in January 2013 when I woke one morning to find that I could hardly move. I consulted my doctor who told me I had sciatica. He prescribed me some painkillers and signed me off work for two weeks. The pain got worse and nothing I tried – heat treatment, painkillers etc. seemed to help. I went back to my doctor and he began to suspect that it was a disc problem and he arranged for me to see an orthopaedic consultant. They told me that I may have to have surgery to sort the problem out. I had a friend who was an aromatherapist, so I rang her to ask if she could give me a massage. She suggested that I consult an osteopath, and recommended Stephen McDermott. Stephen confirmed that it was disc trouble and began treating me. A few weeks later I saw the consultant. Stephen had given me a letter stating his diagnosis and treatment. The consultant agreed with Stephen’s diagnosis and said that it was one of the most accurate diagnoses that he had ever seen. He told me that my osteopath was doing an excellent job and had avoided the need for surgery. Four years on, I still see Stephen on a regular basis and have all my discs intact. Thank you Stephen.

I have lived with pain since the age of thirteen from a bike accident. Now at the age of sixty-nine, I look back upon my search for relief.
